The standard we work to
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We design and test pages against that standard, consistent with our obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
What we've done
- Pages use semantic headings, landmarks and labelled navigation, so they can be navigated with a screen reader or keyboard.
- Every interactive element can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text and interface colours are chosen to meet WCAG contrast requirements.
- Animations respect your device's reduced motion setting, and the moving strip on the homepage has a pause button.
- Forms have visible labels, describe errors in text next to the field and don't rely on colour alone.
- The security check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) doesn't ask you to solve a visual puzzle. If it fails, the form offers phone and email alternatives.
- Pages can be zoomed to 400% and reflow on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
We don't use accessibility overlay widgets. We make the site itself accessible instead.
Known limitations
- The animated diagrams on some pages are decorative. Their content is also described in the page text.
- Some older articles include tables. Tables have header cells, but on small screens you may need to scroll a table sideways.
If you find a part of the site that doesn't work for you, please tell us.
