Projects

Umbrella Tech's projects show how a Perth technology consultancy takes work from assessment through design, implementation and handover. This section groups our work by area, from AI and automation and Microsoft 365 to networks, cybersecurity and compliance, and links the client case studies we can publish. Each one sets out the challenge, what we delivered and how the result was checked.

How we deliver

How a project runs

01

Discovery and scope

We look at the current environment, the people and systems that depend on it, and what has to be true at the end. The scope records what is in, what is out and who will accept the work.

02

Design

We decide how the change will be made, how it will be tested and how to roll back if something goes wrong, and agree that design before work starts.

03

Implementation and testing

We make the change in stages, test each service with the people who use it and fix what testing finds before we call the work done.

04

Handover

You receive a written record of what changed, the test results, open risks and recommendations, so your team or IT provider can run the result.

Technologies and frameworks

Our published projects use Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Teams and the Microsoft Graph API, Freshservice, Zabbix and Grafana, Docker and GitHub Actions, Palo Alto Networks firewalls and UniFi switching and Wi-Fi. Compliance work is organised around the Essential Eight, ISO/IEC 27001 (information security management), ISO/IEC 42001 (AI management systems), SMB1001, the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and Right Fit For Risk (RFFR).

Frequently asked questions

What does Umbrella Tech provide for projects?

We scope, design, implement, test and hand over technology projects across AI and automation, Microsoft 365, networks, cybersecurity and compliance. We can deliver a whole project or a defined stage, such as discovery or onsite installation, and we document each change as we go.

Who are these projects for?

Australian organisations that need a change made properly but do not have the time or specialist skills in-house. That includes internal IT teams who want an extra pair of hands and IT providers who need onsite engineering for their own clients, as the Rosh Tech case study shows. Our MSP Partner Services page explains how that arrangement works.

What outcomes should a project deliver?

A project should leave you with the agreed change working, tested with the people who rely on it, and documented well enough for someone else to operate. It should also make the remaining risks visible, so the next decision is an informed one.

How long does a project take, and what does it cost?

That depends on the size of the environment, the number of sites and systems involved and how much is already documented. We confirm scope, timing and cost in discovery, before any delivery work is committed.
