Requirement mapping
Connect the agreed information and cyber security obligations with specific implementation actions.
DISP cyber security requirements are the information and cyber security controls the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) expects of members at their membership level. Umbrella Tech implements them: we map your obligations to practical actions, improve identity, endpoint, network and information controls, and document the work so your Security Officer can show how the business meets its DISP cyber security obligations.
You know which DISP cyber security requirements are not yet met, but closing them means changes to accounts, devices, networks and how Defence information is stored, often while staff keep delivering contracts. The work also needs records that stand up in the application and in ongoing reporting.
Controls that meet the agreed cyber security requirements for your level, tested and documented, with exceptions recorded and owners named. Your CSO and SO receive evidence they can use, and your IT team or MSP knows how to keep it in place.
Connect the agreed information and cyber security obligations with specific implementation actions.
Enforce multi-factor authentication and Conditional Access in Microsoft Entra ID and separate administrative accounts.
Bring devices under management with consistent patching, hardening and Essential Eight controls.
Restrict access to Defence-related information and improve logging, backups and recovery.
Document the work and how it fits the wider DISP preparation.
Start from a readiness assessment and agree the requirements and scope.
Sequence the work by risk, with pilots and rollback for changes that affect users.
Deliver the changes and verify each one works across the scope.
Record evidence, update procedures and brief the people who maintain the controls.
The Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) is the Department of Defence membership program for businesses in the Defence supply chain. Its cyber security requirements commonly draw on ASD guidance, including the Essential Eight.
About DISP services →Our work covers information and cyber security. Governance, personnel and physical security remain with your CSO, SO and other responsible people, and Defence determines membership outcomes.

They are the information and cyber security controls Defence expects for your membership level, covering areas such as access control, multi-factor authentication, patching, hardening, backups and incident handling. Your level and Defence's current guidance set the detail.
After a DISP Readiness Assessment or another review has identified gaps, or when a contract requires membership and the IT environment needs uplift. We can work from another provider's assessment once we confirm it reflects the current environment.
Requirement mapping, configuration changes in identity, endpoints and networks, information handling improvements, testing, documentation and handover. It often includes Essential Eight uplift.
It depends on the membership level, the size of the gap and how much change the business can absorb at once. We confirm scope and timing in discovery.
Defence-related information needs clear handling and access rules, and changes to privileged access need testing and fallback. Responsibilities between your security officers, internal IT and any MSP must be agreed so controls stay in place after the project.
Share your readiness findings or the requirements you need to meet. We will plan the cyber security work to support your DISP membership.
