What is a SharePoint intranet?
It is an internal website built on SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365, using communication sites, hub sites and navigation to connect news, resources and team spaces. Because it uses your Microsoft 365 accounts and permissions, there is no separate system to sign in to.
When should a business use it?
When staff struggle to find current policies or forms, when information lives in email and file shares, or when an old intranet is no longer maintained.
Can SharePoint support document management as well as an intranet?
Yes. Document libraries, metadata, permissions and review processes can support document management. We define the requirements and configuration rather than treating an intranet homepage as the whole solution.
