Treatment plan
Connect each confirmed gap with a control design, owner and target date.
RFFR implementation is the work of bringing a provider's controls, documentation and evidence up to the Right Fit For Risk (RFFR) requirements the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) has set for its assurance category. As an RFFR consultant, Umbrella Tech connects each gap with a treatment plan, delivers the technical and procedural changes, and documents how controls operate across your systems and suppliers.
Confirmed RFFR gaps need control designs, owners and evidence before DEWR assurance activity, and provider IT teams are often stretched delivering programs. Changes also touch suppliers and third-party systems that the provider does not directly run.
Controls that meet your category's requirements across the systems holding program information, documentation that reflects real practice, and organised evidence for DEWR review. Exceptions and supplier responsibilities are recorded, and owners know how to keep the evidence current.
Connect each confirmed gap with a control design, owner and target date.
Implement access, multi-factor authentication, device, patching, logging and backup improvements, including Essential Eight uplift.
Establish or improve cyber security incident procedures, including reporting.
Document supplier responsibilities and the controls that apply to them.
Complete documentation on DEWR's templates and organise the supporting records.
Agree designs, owners and sequence, taking DEWR's transition dates into account.
Deliver the changes in stages and verify each control works.
Complete the documentation, organise evidence and brief the people who will maintain it.
Right Fit For Risk (RFFR) is DEWR's cyber security accreditation approach for providers delivering its programs. It draws on ISO/IEC 27001, the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Essential Eight.

It is the remediation work that closes confirmed RFFR gaps: technical controls, procedures, supplier arrangements and the documentation and evidence DEWR reviews.
When a gap assessment has identified work to do, when DEWR has advised new requirements under the revised framework, or when internal capacity is not enough to meet the deadline. We can work from another provider's assessment once we have confirmed it is current.
Treatment planning, technical changes, Essential Eight uplift, incident management, supplier documentation, completion of DEWR's templates and evidence organisation.
It depends on your category, the number and size of gaps, supplier involvement and DEWR's transition dates. We confirm scope and timing in discovery.
Participant information is personal and often sensitive, so access and data handling come first. Supplier responsibilities need to be explicit, and changes must be tested so service delivery is not disrupted. Accreditation decisions remain with DEWR.
Share your gap findings or DEWR's advice to your organisation. We will plan the remediation needed to support your accreditation.
