Case Studies

Umbrella Tech's case studies describe completed client work in plain terms: the challenge, what we delivered, the technology involved and how the result was tested and handed over. Each one is written from our delivery records and published with the client's approval. They currently cover campus monitoring and IT automation for a Western Australian school and an onsite network replacement for an IT services provider.

What each case study covers

Every case study follows the same structure, so you can compare them and judge how the work was done, not only what was installed.

  • The challenge: what the client needed and the boundary of the work.
  • What we delivered: the design decisions, the technology and the controls involved.
  • How it was checked: the tests run, who confirmed them and what evidence was kept.
  • Handover: the documentation the client received and the work still to come.
  • What we left out: addresses, device and account details, credentials and open security findings.

Questions about these case studies

What does Umbrella Tech provide in these case studies? Each case study is an account of real, completed work, described only as far as our records support. Ongoing work is labelled as ongoing, and we do not claim savings or results the records do not show.

Who are the case studies for? IT managers, business owners and IT providers weighing up whether we suit a similar project. The Santa Maria College case study suits teams that want visibility of their network and services, and the Rosh Tech case study suits providers that need onsite engineering for their clients.

What outcomes should a project deliver? The agreed change working and tested with the people who depend on it, plus a written handover your team can operate from. The Projects overview explains how we run each stage.
